When Eldon is gone on vacation every year, there is no telling what will happen. In 2003 they bought a glass business, and the Glass Depot was born. Then, in 2004, they decided it was time for a change. Summer brought an entire overhaul of the stores interior. Shelving, signage, products, displays and so much more was added and updated. Here are few photos of the store before the remodel.
In the Spring of 2005, the hit TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, came to Kansas City, MO. Weyerhaeuser, one of the product providers for the build, provided the store with VIP passes for the day. These are a few photos of the construction in process and of Jason Cleaver as he enjoyed watching as this house was built in 7 days!
Most every year a company party is held so that the employees and all of their familes can get together for fun and of course food. A dinner was held around Christmas time in 2004, along with a scavenger hunt. Everyone was divided into teams, then given an envelope with clues. They traveled all around town, and finally ended up at Wal-Mart with a particular item to buy. The team to return to the starting point first got to choose from a table of prizes included gift certificates, leather coats and tools!
